Independent Army Units
The Army maintains several units that are not assigned to a specific corps or division due either to their mission or to their location. These units report directly to the Joint Forces Staff.
Independent Units
1st Infantry Regiment
The Rock of Dalmatia
The 1st Infantry Regiment, also known as the Capital Infantry Regiment, is the ROD government's honor guard. It is responsible for performing ceremonial duties, as well as security missions for government officials and visiting foreign dignitaries. It is, however, still a light infantry regiment, and all regimental personnel must maintain their qualifications and proficiencies in their primary MOS. The regiment consists of a HQ company, scout company, combat engineer company, 3 light infantry battalions, a howitzer battalion, and a forward support battalion.
2nd Armored Brigade
Dragon
The Dragon Brigade is an armored formation that is forward deployed to the Kingdom of Mahishmati. The brigade operates as an independent unit, though it can easily be integrated into a division or corps formation. It can also be attached to forces of other nations in certain circumstances. As an independent unit, 2d Armored Brigade is larger than a normal armored brigade. It includes a HQ company, brigade recon troop, combat engineer company, air defense battery, 3 mechanized infantry battalions, a tank battalion, a SP howitzer battalion, and a forward support battalion.
7th Mechanized Brigade
Iron Horse
The Iron Horse Brigade is a mechanized unit that is forward deployed to Schweinfurt, Germany. It is capable of rapid deployment, and of being quickly attached to units of the ROD, German, or other allied militaries. It is larger than most mechanized brigades. The 7th Mech Brigade consists of a HQ company, brigade recon troop, combat engineer company, air defense battery, 3 mechanized infantry battalions, a tank battalion, a SP howitzer battalion, and a forward support battalion.
15th Parachute Infantry Regiment
Rampage
Rampage is currently the Army's only conventional airborne unit. The regiment includes a HQ company, scout company, 3 airborne infantry battalions, towed howitzer battalion, and a forward support battalion. Every soldier in the regiment is airborne qualified and all of the assigned equipment is capable of being air dropped.
21st Military Intelligence Brigade
Spectre
Spectre is the military intelligencer unit that is responsible for collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of data at the strategic and global levels. It has access to intelligence collected from non-military resources, and it works closely with some foreign agencies as well.
33rd Air Defense Brigade
Hunter
Hunter is responsible for theater air defense, both for deployed military units and for the ROD home island. Deployable units in the brigade include a brigade HQ, an Iron Dome battalion, 2 Patriot battalions, and a THAAD batalion.
40th Infantry Regiment
Shadow
The unit designation of Infantry Regiment is a little misleading when it comes to this unit. Shadow is the Army's special operations force, staffed with the best of the best as far as the Army is concerned. There are no junior enlisted soldiers in the regiment. All regimental personnel must apply as an NCO or officer, and only those that pass a rigorous selection process are allowed to join. The regiment is organized into battalions and companies, but Shadow rarely operates in groups larger than 12-man A Teams. The regiment consists of four battalions: three battalions of operators and one battalion of cyber warfare specialists.
